School History

Mondriaan (Creative) Montessori School was established on March 13, 1987, by the late Aurora G. Geniza, making it the first Montessori school in Olongapo. The school started with the CASA program, catering to children ages 2 to 6, and later expanded its program to 12-year-olds.

At Mondriaan Montessori, the staff is dedicated to the Montessori approach to education, which emphasizes a child’s self-development following their social and emotional needs, and academic and physical development. This approach fosters an environment that encourages children to learn at their own pace and develop their unique talents and abilities.

Admission Requirements

Mondriaan Montessori welcomes new enrollees and transferees who meet the following age requirements: Junior Casa 1, ages 3 to 4 years old; Junior Casa 2, ages 4 to 5 years old; and Advanced Casa, ages 5 to 6 years old.

To enroll, parents need to provide the following requirements: Original PSA Birth Certificate, Photocopy of Health Record, and 1 copy of a 1×1 and 2×2 photo. Parents also need to present all necessary credentials and secure an enrollment application form.

Enrollment procedures are simple and straightforward. Parents need to present the duly accomplished enrollment application form and proceed to the cashier for the payment of fees.

Why I Choose Mondriaan Montessori

In Vlog 46, I shared my experience with Mondriaan Montessori during the Mondriaan Aura Intramurals. The video showcased the Preschool Fun Run that happened in the East Tapinac Oval track and the Mondriaan Aura Cheerleading Competition, which was a sight to behold.

My son Marcus had a great time during the Preschool Fun Run, even as a toddler. He loves to run and play, and I let him do his thing. Marcus outran all his classmates, but he stopped and cried when he was about to finish first because he thought everybody should quit racing. When a classmate went past him, he was back on his feet and won the race first.

The Mondriaan Aura Cheerleading Competition was also a fun experience to watch. Marcus, however, was not into it and was just crying in place. But the teachers were patient with the kids, even with Marcus, who just stood up and sat down on cue but never danced. The rest of the video showcased the other grade levels, each with its unique and awesome choreography.

But why did I choose Mondriaan Montessori for my child? My half-brother studied at OB Montessori in Greenhills, and I noticed that his school nurtured his talents instead of trying to force the norm. My school was more of a military-type of academy, which was very challenging and strict. While my school has since changed, I wanted something different for my child.

Mondriaan Montessori offers a unique approach to education that emphasizes the child’s self-development and unique talents. The Montessori approach encourages children to learn at their own pace and explore their interests, which aligns with my belief that every child has their strengths and weaknesses.

Moreover, I appreciate the school’s dedication to providing a nurturing environment for children, which includes not just their academic but also their social and emotional development. The teachers are patient and understanding, as seen in how they handled my son during the Mondriaan Aura Cheerleading Competition.

Overall, I believe that Mondriaan Montessori is the best school for my child, and I highly recommend it to other parents who are looking for a nurturing environment that values their child’s unique talents and abilities.
